The DC preview of tomorrow's Booster Gold #44 is online at The Source. Once again, I find it interesting to compare the solicitation cover art with the finished work. (I previously compared the solicitation and final art for the cover of issue #42.)
Both images were drawn by Dan Jurgens and inked by Norm Rapmund. The difference between the two images -- for good or ill depending on your personal aesthetic -- is the work the colorists at Hi-Fi Designs.

Yesterday DC released a preview of Booster Gold #42 in the Source, and it's interesting to compare the solicitation cover art with the finished work.
Both images were drawn by Chris Batista and presumably inked by Rich Perotta. The solicitation image on the left was probably colored by a DC staffer; the final image on the right was colored by Hi-Fi Designs. What a difference a bit of computer color makes.

Brian Miller of Hi-Fi Designs has a thing or two to say about the coloring of Booster Gold. I'm probably one of the few who miss the days of the 4-color Ben-Day dots in newsprint comic books, but that doesn't mean that I'm adverse to learning how modern coloring is done. As the most influential colorist in Booster Gold's recent career resurgence, Miller's opinion on coloring our hero's character carries some weight.
