Mayfair the Sourcebook Be with Us

The Fire and Water Podcast Network has recently added to their lineup! DC RPG: The Hero Points Podcast, by Siskoid of the famous Blog of Geekery, has already reached its fourth episode in which they covered the 1990 Justice League Sourcebook with Booster Gold on the cover.

Mayfair Games Justice League Sourcebook

That beautiful cover is by Kevin Maguire and Joe Rubinstein. But it's also worth looking at the back cover, with a pull quote attributed to our hero.

Wow, there's so many villains! Has the Justice League really fought all of them? this is too cool . . . Everybody from the Appellaxiansâ„¢ to the Injustice Leagueâ„¢ . . . Even Starro the Conquerorâ„¢ and Magna Khanâ„¢ are in here! -- Booster Goldâ„¢

While the covers are nice, most who bought this sourcebook did so for the role-playing content inside. The book even includes stats for role playing as the Capitalist Crusader!

You can find scans of those pages or listen to the podcast at FireAndWaterPodcast.com. Keep up the good work, guys.

Year in Review 2015: Number 1

To my great surprise, when looking back at the year that was here at Boosterrific.com, none of the posts that generated any significant "heat" had anything to do with Convergence or Bat-Mite or anything DC Comics was doing. In fact, the number one most visited post was this one featuring cosplayer Muyra that ran in February.

Booster Gold by Murasaki Hinoarashi

Proving once again that no one can resist a good looking guy in gold tights. You can find more of Muyra's work on Facebook.

Happy New Year, everyone.

Plugging the Holes

I'd like to end the week with an extra special thank you to Logan Peterson and Shawn Baston, without whom the Boosterrific.com database wouldn't be nearly complete enough.

These two eagle-eyed Booster boosters notified me about our hero's cameos in Secret Origins #10 and Grayson #6.

No Booster Gold collector needs to feel bad if their collection never includes either of these minor appearances, but we're all better off as a community because we have people like these two watching out for the rest of us. Thank you!

[UPDATE 2015-03-26: Kenneth Baillargeon tried to tell me about the Secret Origins appearance on Facebook the week it came out, but I didn't spot that until just now. I'm sorry for not crediting you earlier, Kenneth. I'm not good with the Facebook. (Because, yes, I'm a grumpy old man.) So if anyone needs to reach me, you can find me at webmaster at boosterrific dot com.]

Giving Skeets the Axe

Costa Rican cosplayer Muyra recently posted this Booster Gold cosplay pic on his Facebook page:

Booster Gold by Murasaki Hinoarashi

Booster Gold selling Axe Gold? What a natural pairing! And look at that Skeets: a perfect shape for carrying around your body spray with room left over for a thermos and a snack pack. What a good sidekick!

You can find more of Mura's cosplay pics at WorldCosplay.com.

Blue and Gold Converging

Over the weekend, Russ Burlingame of ComicBook.com uncovered a clue to Convergence on Dan DiDio's Facebook page.

© DC Comics

"Blue Beagle" and "Rooster Gold" animal heads aside — are we going to see a Blue and Gold crossover with Captain Carrot's Zoo Crew? — what's the rest of that picture from? Says detective Burlingame:

This also wouldn't be an old image that this reporter simply doesn't recognize. Ted Kord has only ever shared a single panel with this version of Booster Gold before -- in Futures End: Booster Gold. That issue saw Booster careening out of control through DC's Multiverse, before ending up "home" in the pre-Flashpoint DC Universe. The armored costume -- generally depicted with an A.R.G.U.S. emblem on it, although not here -- first appeared in the Justice League International Annual #1 in the New 52, meaning that Ted Kord was not a superhero and shared no history with Booster Gold when that look debuted.

So is this image teasing a Blue and Gold reunion in the mainstream DCnU? I guess we'll find out as we get closer to April 2015.
