Greatest Story Never Told Is Better Than Most
Cdn dropped by the Boosterrific Forum yesterday to tell us that the Booster Gold episode of Justice League Unlimited cracked the top 5 in CBR.com's list of "15 Unforgettable Justice League Unlimited Episodes."
Well, of course it did. It's "The Greatest Story Never Told."
Says list compiler Colby Lanham:
It's a touching moment for Booster Gold, one that makes the audience feel for the character and his plight while adding layers of depth to the hero who doesn't get many opportunities to do good.
I think it's nice that people remember the episode favorably. But I think it's even nicer that people remember the episode at all.
"The Greatest Story Never Told" first aired in 2004. Twelve years before that, people couldn't watch what had been on television twelve hours earlier if they hadn't had the foresight to record it on a magnetic tape!
It's comforting to know that people will still be discovering both the adventures of Booster Gold long after comics are no longer printed on trees. (Maybe even into the 25th century.)
Long live Booster Gold!

Never Spam
Spotted on Twitter: everything you ever wanted to know about Booster Gold but were afraid to ask.
Thanks to Booster booster CDN for asking the question, and thanks to Jurgens for revealing that so far as he is concerned, our hero is a carnivore and, presumably, no fan of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

People Are Talking
Booster Gold may not be in comic shops right now, but you'll still find him if you look in the right places. Here's what I've seen around the web in the past few days:
- Dan Jurgens is okay with Nathan Fillion (or "probably ten other guys who I'd certainly give a big thumbs-up to") playing a live-action Booster Gold. With a character as great as Booster Gold, I figure even George Clooney couldn't ruin him.
- Speaking of Jurgens, he recently told a fan on Twitter (Booster booster CDN) that "of course" he knows who Rip Hunter's mom is. The trick will be getting him an opportunity to tell us.
- Steve Lam of BamSmackPow.com thinks he has proof that television's Rip Hunter is still Booster Gold's son. If that turns out to be true it would mean that we've already met Booster Gold's grandson!
- Speaking of Legends of Tomorrow, Erin of Exploring the Time Lab revealed that her comic book reading, LoT-watching sister had no idea that Rip Hunter is Booster Gold's son. (Spoilers!) That got me wondering whether most fans of the show would think more or less of Rip Hunter if they knew who his father was. Booster doesn't exactly have a sterling reputation with the casual comic-reading public. (That's what makes his secret identity as The Greatest Hero You've Never Heard Of work.)
What have you heard about Booster Gold lately?

Booster Gold Not Coming to Legends of Tomorrow
If you were paying attention this weekend, you've probably already heard the news reported by Laurence Almalvez of The Hollywood Reporter.
"I wish I could tease a Booster thing but, you might have to wait a good long while at least on our show," said
[Legends of Tomorrow showrunner Phil] Klemmer. "Perhaps Booster is being groomed for bigger things."
Or perhaps he's not. Who knows?
The nerd-baiting click farms that populate the Interwebs want you to believe that this is clear evidence that a Booster Gold movie is in the works. Don't be fooled. This isn't clear evidence of anything other than news that Booster Gold fans don't have to watch Legends of Tomorrow.
Don't worry. If there's going to be a Booster Gold movie, DC will let us know.
Find the whole article, with more information about Legends of Tomorrow at hollywoodreporter.com. Thanks to Cdn for the tip in the Boosterrific Forum.

The Internet Is Made of Lists
The website WatchMojo.com has been on a Booster Gold tear as of late. First they included Booster in one of those click-bait Top 10 list: "Top 10 Underrated Heroes." Apparently they think Booster Gold is living up to his billing as The Greatest Hero You've Never Heard Of.
I'm not even going to pretend that I agree with that list or its facts — a Booster Gold movie is in the works? That's news to me! — but I do love seeing Booster Gold get some recognition. And so does WatchMojo. Figuring that their audience really didn't know who Booster Gold was, they made a video recapping his origin story!
Thanks to WatchMojo for spreading the word about how awesome Booster Gold is. And thanks to CDN and Adam Stacks for the links.
