Saturday Morning Cartoons Golden Again
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment issued a press release earlier this month to tell the world that Justice League Action would be coming to DVD this October. The first release will be "Season 1 Part 1" and contain the first 26 episodes of the series.
While this is great news for any fan of fun television, beware that Booster Gold appears in only one of those episodes, "Night of the Bat" (the third episode of the series). Presumably we'll have to wait for next year's "Season 1 Part 2" to get the superb "Time Out." But we don't have to wait that long for more Booster Gold.
Tomorrow, Cartoon Network will air the Justice League Action episode "Booster's Gold" for the first time in America. The episode synopsis at CartoonNetwork.com reads "Green Arrow becomes involved with Booster Gold when he discovers that the self-centered superhero has brought dinosaurs back from the past for a money-making venture." Oooh. Count me in.
The episode was written by show producer Jim Krieg and Jake Castorena, director of "Time Out," does the same for "Booster's Gold." So I think we can expect good things.

You Can't Always Get What You Want
So you're still happy, even without Booster, huh?
Last week's poll question: More than six months in, how satisfied are you with Rebirth overall? (59 votes)
Generally speaking, I do think that the Rebirth DC Universe is an improvement over what came before. That said, I'll never be satisfied until I get my Booster Gold back.
On an unrelated note, for those of you like me who missed Booster Gold in the Justice League Action debut in December, TV Guide tells me that Cartoon Network is scheduled to rerun the episode "Night of the Bat" tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM Eastern. Don't miss it twice!

Back in Action
Justice League Action debuted on Cartoon Network on Friday in a four-part "Shazam Slam" special. Unexpectedly, Booster Gold got in on the action!
Booster played a small role in episode 3, "Night of the Bat," where he is used exclusively as comic relief. (There's even a quick "Gold's Gym" visual pun.) Diedrich Bader's portrayal of Booster sounds a little more Californian than Boosters past. It's very in keeping with Booster's public image as an idiot.
Although Booster doesn't have much to do in this episode, JLA writer Jonathan Callan called the character "a breakout star" on Twitter.com. Booster voice actor Diedrich Bader responded by saying how much he loves playing the character.
Hopefully, this love fest will translate into bigger roles for Booster in future episodes. We'll be watching.
(Special thanks to Bob in Friday's comments for catching Booster's appearance.)

Animated Booster Gold Coming into Focus
We keep hearing that Booster Gold is going to be in the upcoming Justice League Action cartoon, but we haven't seen any pictures of the character design. That is, until now.
This pic comes to us courtesy of The Blot, who's been busy hunting Booster Gold at Comic Con this week. (We're in your debt, Blot.) Booster is one of several characters, most of whom were previously revealed, on a Justice League Action wall display. Note that the design is clearly based on his pre-New 52 look. Thank the gods.
At the convention, DC also released a sizzle real including some of the DC Universe's more obscure characters like Dex-Starr, Vixen, and Space Cabbie, but still no Booster Gold in action. However, we did get another video featuring Diedrich Bader talking about his approach to the character. You'll find it starting at 2:09 below:
(Thanks to Morgenstern for that link.)
I was initially apprehensive when I heard that Bader, known far and wide as Lawrence in Office Space, would be Batman in Brave and the Bold, but he totally won me over with his deadpan delivery. As much as I'll miss Tom Everett Scott in the role, I'm excited to hear what Bader can bring to Booster this fall on Cartoon Network.
