Update on Booster Gold Television Show

For the occasion of tonight's Arrow season finale, Executive Producer of Arrow Andrew Kreisberg, who also happens to be the man behind the attempt to turn Booster Gold into a television show on the SyFy network, was interviewed by Craig Byrne of GreenArrowTv.com. There's a bit of that interview very important to Booster Gold fans:

GreenArrowTv.com: So there's no chance the two shows [Arrow, Booster Gold] could exist in the same universe?

Kreisberg: There's always a possibility. There's a line in the Booster Gold pilot [script] where somebody says "we finally have our own hero. Not like that nut in Starling City with the hood." I don't know if they're going to let me keep that line over there, if they [Syfy] actually make the pilot, but it sort of makes me smile to think that it's the same universe.

Did you catch it? Here, let me emphasize the important part.

"...if they [SyFy] actually make the pilot...."

That's the man making the show admitting that he has no idea whether SyFy is still working on his show over a year after SyFy announced it. Draw your own conclusions about that.

These Days It Means Medium Density Fiberboard

More than 3 million people are watching Arrow each week, not a far cry from the numbers that Smallville was pulling in its final season. Given that the CW approved a full season of episodes, it would seem that the network is happy. But the only question that matters is how Booster Gold fans feel about the show.

Last week's poll question: How have episodes of Arrow influenced your expectations for a Booster Gold television show from the same producers? (40 votes)

How have episodes of Arrow influenced your expectations for a Booster Gold television show from the same producers?

Arrow has changed a lot while adapting Green Arrow for television. Some modifications are to be expected as the character moves away from his source material, but it's not like characters don't change over time even in their native comic book format. Even Booster Gold has changed a little since his 1985 debut.

Do You Like to Watch?

Outside of Luthor's brief term in office, DC comics have traditionally had benevolent Presidents, at least so far as the agenda of super heroes have been concerned. It's always Senators who are the really evil ones. (Just ask Booster Gold his opinion of Senator Ballard.)

Last week's poll question: In comic books, would you rather have a good President or an evil one? (33 votes)

In comic books, would you rather have a good President or an evil one?

Enough politics. Let's talk about something that really matters: television.

Get an Eyeful of Arrow Tonight

Since you're reading this post on a website devoted to the greatest hero in the history of whichever DC Universe you prefer, you are interested in the Booster Gold series in development by the SyFy network. There has been precious little information about that show so far, but that's because the producers have been busy with a show based on a different colorful DC hero: Green Arrow.

Arrow debuts tonight on The CW, and it may provide the best clues to what producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg have in mind for Booster Gold. If the title is any indication, we know that SyFy's show will probably be called just Booster. For any more hints, we'll have to watch The CW tonight at 8:00 PM EST.
