That panel is awesome... may have to find that issue! :)

... Boosterrific, I confess I may have to hunt that down. That is excellent!

I don't hold out much hope for Guy unless Hal's not himself. Hal winning would be so anticlimactic as to be useless, but that doesn't always stop comic companies from doing something

As for Flashpoint, have they said exactly how involved in that the BG title is going to be?

That panel was from ACTION COMICS WEEKLY 630 (December 13 1988).

Erin is probably more interested in this one:

Of course Guy goes on to lose that fight in GREEN LANTERN v3 #25. Guy lost a lot of fights in the 80s and 90s. Time for a rematch.

And, no, we have no idea yet how invested Booster Gold will be in FLASHPOINT. It doesn't even go on sale for another 4 months, so there's time to find out. (Is it just me, or have they been teasing FLASHPOINT for, like, forever?)

I am still fairly new to comics, but it does not really feel lik Flashpoint was teased more or stronger than other events like Blackest Night.

And Guy did "win" against Ted..though only due sucker punching him.

FLASHPOINT was first teased in DC books shipping April, 2010! That's over a year early. That's a lot of hype.

BLACKEST NIGHT teasers were released in April 2009. Although it was published later that same year, it ran for an entire year with quite a bit of hoopla. At least FLASHPOINT will only be 5 issues (plus over a dozen tie-in mini-series).

You may remember a ring promotion that set the comics world on fire for 2 months for BLACKEST NIGHT? The rings will be back for FLASHPOINT. So brace yourself. (Sure, Flash's ring is cool, but still no LoSH ring? So disappointing.)

Yeah, it does kinda feel like we've been hearing about it forever. I wonder if they're worried that this being seen as primarily a Flash story, it won't have the wider appeal of multi-target-audience things like Blackest Night/Brightest Day? Though they don't seem to be talking as much about what it will be, just sort of reminding us it's there

From a story stand point Guy winning is the only interesting result. Hal's won all the other fights and to our knowledge has nothing to gain by winning another. Guy winning would prove that he's grown and might actually force Hal to think as this would be an ego bruiser.

(BTW weren't all their other fights during Guys' brain damaged period?)

Yeah I saw that panel and the comic it was from. I'm still stunned at Hals' behavior as well as the JL. Guy may be a jerk but everyone besides Ice was downright nasty.

If memory serves it happened not long after Guy met Hal before the JLI even formed. Guy was picked as Hals' replacement/substitute and looked after his battery while Hal was else where. I can't recall the order it happened but I remember Guy getting hit by a bus while trying to save a child which I believe is where the brain damage happened. At some point the battery exploded making everyone think he was dead. Almost instantly his fiancé and Hal get together almost getting hitched as a result. Guy sees everything from his prison (he may have been trapped in the battery) and his rivalry with Hal starts.

Because Guy already had an head injury further blows to his head made his personality switch possible. Strangely this didn't happen when Batman hit him but afterwards when he woke up alone looking for his ring. Before the fight he handed his ring to Ted to make it a fair fight but Ted tossed it over his shoulder. It landed under the computer console and upon seeing a rat Guy hit his head. He doesn't have the best of luck.

His brain damage was fixed during his Warrior days when he discovered he was part alien through several generations back. Something most like to forget.

Ahh, memories :)

Not helping matters, *I think* (but its been a while, so this could be wrong) - while he was imprisoned (I think it was the Phantom Zone, because on the involvement of Zod?) he also got brainwashed. Though brainwashing, at the time, was sort of similar to death - most everyone caught it at some time or another, most just got better.
