Looking at the cover of the newly-solicited FIRESTORM #9, it appears as though by May the JLI will have lost Fire, Ice, Vixen and Rocket Red, but gained OMAC and Batwing. Interesting...!

I am not that sure that all those missing on the cover have left the team (on way or another). It has been stated that it will have a rotating rooster, and there is no need to have every character in every story, just for appearances sake. Neither the arc, nor the character of Vixen would have lost anything if she had been left out of the Signal Masters...also...someone has to be on monitor duty

Actually, if you look at cover 9 for the JLI, Guy is in a headlock thanks to OMAC and the caption reads that the JLI is in a race against OMAC for something.

But the Cover for Firestorm #9 shows OMAC as part of the JLI team.

Yes, but they could also have just been fighting. Covers and what's inside aren't always what's happening.

A rotating rooster, Morganstern? Is that like one of the ones you see in old cartoons with the North-South-East-West arrows on top of the barn?

The cover to FIRESTORM 9 shows a bunch of characters trapped by a fist. Whether or not those characters are on the same team is undefined.

It hadn't even occurred to me that OMAC might be joining the team: probably because of the cover to JLIv3 #8, I assumed that OMAC was just filling the anti-hero antagonist role that Lobo occupied in the original JLI 18/19/20 and like Lobo, he isn't really a member of the team.

But then, I really don't read too much into these cover solicits. Maybe because I'm such a big fan of the Silver Age, I expect every cover to be misleading. Before anyone starts tossing money around, recall that very recently a JLI cover included a character who not only didn't appear in the book, but hasn't been seen in the DCnU AT ALL. So even DC's recent track record isn't spotless for accuracy.

I dont have the experience of the Silver Age, but moving characters that have lost their solo title into team books is a common move. I stay with my "claim"/projection that OMAC will become a team member for the JLI, at least for some time (like Batman was)
