So, if you were translating, what would "Booster Gold" be in German? (And then, for giggles, we'll translate that back to English.)

that depends a bit on the context, there are many ways to translate Booster (Gold is ...well Gold).

One would Föderer* Gold, which rougly translated back can result in "Gold Digger", but also can mean something like Sponsor.

Other ways to (re)translate it back into English would result in "Inflater Gold, or Gold Inflater" or Repeater Gold.

Being a typically monolingual American, Föderer Gold sounds like Booster's dour German counterpart. I can't wait for the "Boosters of Many Nations" episode of the series!

I am not sure if a German Booster would work..I mean Booster is know for being..well..fun. Then again he could play the role of Batman or Manhunter on the meetings of the..mh..Golden Council?

Well, the goateed, evil, alternate-universe Booster would be super serious, wouldn't he? So maybe the German Booster turns up in the "Mirror, mirror" episode.

actually..goatee Spock was not evil. In fact he was the only one portrayed as a good one of the whole mirror, mirror episode (of those from mirror universe of course). So goatee booster would not be the evil counterpart, but the only good hero of his universe.

No. Mirror universe Spock wasn't evil because Spock isn't good. The looking-glass characters of the Star Trek Mirror universe translates morality, it doesn't warp personalities. For instance, Kirk was still driven and protective of his ship. Spock is naturally logical and practical, so the dark reflection of Spock in the mirror universe is as well. Booster is selfish, but he is definitely good. Therefore, a Mirror Universe Booster would be selfish and evil. And he'd have a goatee.

ok that might be true...but that reminds me..thanks to 52 there a plenty pics on the internet, not of Booster but with Skeets having a goatee.

A few pages back I mentioned that Kreisberg did work on the JLU cartoon. He did not only that, but he was also the guy who actually wrote the Booster Gold episode: "The greatest story never told". Which should give even more hope that (at least the script) gets Booster right.
