Have you ever seen the JLI pilot that was created about a decade back? Fire, Ice, Gardner, Atom, Martian Manhunter are in it. It does not include Booster or Blue Beetle, and while I'd like to say that their omission why it was bad, that wasn't the problem. It was just terrible.

A JLI with Booster Gold would have to be better, if only because it included Booster Gold.

I've heard of the movie, but never watched it. A "real" JLI movie of course needs the Blue & Gold..as well as a Budget thatz is not smaller than a smallville episode.

My friend texted me the news and I assumed he was joking. Then I checked the internet (which is never wrong) and my heart skipped a beat.

What amazing news, you gotta think, even if it's bad, it has to raise Boosterwarness (tm) in the general population right? There's gotta be some people who say "Booster Gold? That was that tv show with the funny hero that was on for like a week? What's that all about" and pick up the book.

All good things.

While some of his others works have already been mentioned, Andrew Kreisberg also wrote episodes for the Justice League cartoon, which many apparrantly have fond memories of. So that would be a small sign that the script might be actually be good.

I was really, really worried about this at first. I looked into the people attached, and there is some good stuff on their resumes. That's encouraging.

I think I'm most concerned about the network. Ever since the Sci Fi network became SyFy, the network has primarily been a low-budget clearing house. Their low-ratings tolerance is relatively high, but their budgets are... lackluster. That means that most of their shows all look somewhat amateurish, with cheap costumes, sets, special effects, etc. That's not a deal killer for my enthusiasm, but it does put a bit of a damper on it.

Booster on scifi is a two-edged-sword. Like you said it means a smaller budget than other networks (though some shows, like the stargate and battlestar franchise did ok effects wise..then again they had a much bigger brand-name and thus bigger budgets than Booster Gold would get).

But on the other hand it also means that the chance that this script translates into an actual show is much higher than it would be FOX, ABC & Co. And should that happen the chances of Booster not getting canned after a few episodes are again higher since the expections for ratings are much lower. Also I would asume that the typical scifi-viewer is more likely to give a show about Booster Gold a chance than the average ABC-viewer.

In short: Scifi means we have to worry about the production value, but also gives higher hope of actually seeing the show done in the first place..and even then I don't give the show of actually airing not a higher chance than 50%

(But should it make it, even if it is only a Pilot without any further episodes...I don't think I'll be able to stop myself from rubbing it into the faces of WW-fans)

Also..am I the only one that believes that, at least in part, this must the result of the Smallville episode?

The question, as fans of Wonder Woman recently discovered, is whether it is worth having a television show if it means seeing a terrible version of our favorite character on screen? We hope that doesn't happen. And if it does... well, I'll ponder that dilemma when I have to, but not before. (I feel like I just worked through this same problem with the DCnU reboot!)

I agree, by the way, that this good fortune for Booster must be attributable primarily to SMALLVILLE. That's a pretty good launch platform for a live action Booster. It also means we owe no small debt of thanks to episode screenwriter Geoff Johns for getting Booster this far.
