From the DC blog, where Jurgens has been cryptically answering and non-answering questions about Flashpoint every Friday for a few weeks now, comes one that's kinda illuminating...!

Question: Who in the world of FLASHPOINT is your favorite character to work on? What surprise character will have fans talking?

Dan Jurgens: You’re asking me about the last page of BOOSTER GOLD #44! Can’t talk about that yet!

My guess? That the world of Flashpoint will have its own Time Masters with whom Booster may have to find a way to work, or find himself in competition with for the fate of the two universes.

I was thinking it might be Barry but that's an interesting theory. Of course in stories like this I really hope for more time travelers to bump into each other. I'd be ecstatic if Walker Gabriel came in contact with Booster.

there were a few other remarks from him that can be summed up as followed (as best as I remember them):

The events will stay canon/be remembered for/by Booster Gold
A new character will be introduced.
This Character will continue to appear after Flashpoint

My own further guesses are that after FP is done we get a couple of one-shots or two-issues arcs until #48 when 1 bigger arc gets started that with #50 being a double-sized finale (to the arc, not BG #vol2..I hope)

I would put my money rather on introducing a new villian. BG needs a better rogue gallery at the moment instead of more supporting characters (in my view)

I don't recall hearing the spoilers before, at least not in regards to Booster. Was this from a recent interview? I think Flashpoint is only around for 5 months, and given what Jurgens hinted at with #50 possibly revealing Black Beetles' ID I assumed 50 wasn't connected to the event.

I agree on the rogues gallery vs. supporting characters, although I'd like to have at least one that's not in the family or will be married into it. Daniel and Rose haven't even been used since Blackest Night. But so far the only strong recurring bad guys we have are: The Times Stealers (as a group rather than the characters themselves), Black Beetle, Jason Goldstein, possibly the Chronos couple (don't know if Jurgens will use them but I'm counting them since they faced Booster in the All new Atom), Mr. Mind (he's sort of alive since his kids share his memories), and now Max Lord.

There was an "interview" with all Flashpoints writers one or two weeks ago in the dcu blog where Jurgens mentioned most of the things written in my blog. Also when I was talking about what I believe to happen after FP I was speaking in general terms and did not intend to say that those events will be connected to the FP-Event (or rather not more than any other BG story would that would start after #44)

I think it's a guarantee we'll see more of the Linear Men, especially Linear Woman. After all, she was introduced in the pages of TIME MASTERS: VANISHING POINT, the lead-in series to FLASHPOINT.

True but are they really bad guys or heroes that are simply misguided? I'm inclined to believe the latter but you never know.

I'm hoping for a villain who poses a serious threat a la Mr. Mind in 52, someone who can be Khan to Booster's Kirk, his Joker if you will, I;m not sure if any of his current enemies really fill that description, though evil supernova comes close, as does Black Beetle. also on an unrelated note, I want Peter Platinum to come back.

Jurgens seems to be making Black Beetle into Boosters' main enemy. Booster and Rip have yet to actually beat him, all they've done is stall him.

But I think that thus far Max has the best makings for his arch-enemy. They have so much history between them with their friendship, Max being the one to get him into the league and murdering his best friend. Unless Black Beetles' ID creates such a bond it's a little hard to beat Max for the spot.

The thing with Max is that he's never really gone mano a mano with Booster in an important story--calling him Booster's archenemy is like calling Darkseid Superman's. Usually Darkseid shows up with an army, to fight an army. Or the JLA. I feel like so far Max has been the same. Plus, his self-importance seems to lead him to believe he's Diana's, and being Booster's would be slumming it.
