Yeah, I heard she was named after the writers' wife. If that's all it's kinda a let down.

It's not a let down if you're the writer's wife. I bet she thinks its kind of cool.

I would be ecstatic to have a comic character named after me. Even if I was "Walter, the Booster Gold Stalker," who spent all his time trying to peep into the windows of Rip Hunter's Arizona Time Lab ! DAILY PLANET headline: "Judge Issues Restraining Order: Walter Must Stay 1000 Yards Away From Booster Gold."

I am actually surprised that Booster has as of yet not encountered such kind of fans in the comic.

With regards to the Red Beetle...I would be perfectly fine with it, if it had not been portrayed as a mystery. If you want the readers to guess about something like this, let the answer be something they might actually have a chance of knowing. If you pull something complete new out of the hat (like the wife here) be upfront about it.

It seems for the past few years, Booster only meets one type of fan: the smartass.

RE: Red Beetle's name. What's the fuss? I'm not reading JSA, but it seems we still know, like, nothing about the character. Does her last name have to be Garrett or Kord or Reyes for her to have some tie to the Blue Beetles? Her story is still unfolding. How she is related to the Beetles is still the mystery, isn't it?

I'm reminded of the unmasking of Peter Parker on the subway car in SPIDER-MAN 2: "He's... just a kid." Not everyone is a millionaire playboy celebrity under the mask.

Given Boosters' fame I'm surprised he doesn't have stalkers.

With the reveal, I thought it was supposed to be a mystery because I recall someone quoting him as saying something to that affect. Don't really care other than being slightly disappointed that there wasn't more of a lead up. I mean how cool would it have been to have either Jaime or Booster confront her over this and then get her to confess her reasoning?

I still it leads up to a confrontation/encounter with either Booster or Jaime!

sidenote: All this talk made me think...anyone sad there isn't an on-going about Blue Beetle anymore? Even as a back-up?
Come on! It's one of Charlton Comics most beloved characters and better known! Plus Jaime needs to be back as main character and leave those silly Teen Titans...

Well he did leave the Teen Titans a year ago when GL started, I am pretty sure that he'll be in the new JLI series instead of returning to the TT (except for visits).

Of course that does not mean I would not like another BB-Solo Series. I really miss his supporting cast.

Something else I was thinking about (doing a lot of that since my TV went out after a storm), with the re-boot at DC and no JSA title we'll never know anything more about the Red Beetle.
I guess if things go well in JLI we could see her at some point within the revolving lineup, but I think we may have seen her premature demise.

I can live with the Red Beetle ending up in Limbo without ever really learning anything about her..now the Black Beetle on the other hand..

Yeah, Black Beetle needs to show up. I could see him making an appearance to JLI to bother Booster sometime down the road. Maybe he got stuck in the past when the timestream got closed
