Do you prefer to buy your comics as single issues when they come out, or wait for the TDP? Personally I am quite torn. On the one hand I find that the pages/$ ratio of single issues is not acceptable and that you finish the 20-odd pages so quickly that it is just not worth it. On the other hand, at least to my understanding, most comics survive based on their issue sales and not the TDP numbers. So if I would switch to only buying TDP it would lower the life expendency of Boosters solo title (and looking at the numbers, every issue counts). Of course there is also the Problem that you would have to wait quite a bit until you would actually get to read the stories and you would often not be able to take part in the discussions (or get heavily spoilered while doing so).
Currently I am somewhat on a compromiss and buy only a select few titles as single issue (namly Booster Gold & Gen Lost. With the temporary addition of Power Girl due the GL-connection,). Everything else gets only bought as TDP (if at all), though it is not like there are that many other title I currently find interesting. Batgirl would be one. (and maybe even the only one, at least regarding the current line up).
I wish DC would go more digial and offer more comics online..to a more acceptable price..or maybe an abo. If you are willing to buy a years worth of Booster Gold issues in advance via a method that is much cheaper for DC it should be worth to reduce the price quite a bit.

I started with graphic novels and trades, but I read almost exclusively the individual issues now, I just can't wait for trades to get my stories anymore.

When I started reading comics, trades were unheard of. I am conditioned to read single issues, and I love the episodic nature of monthly comics.
I will read trades when I am picking up something old for the first time, but I would much rather read individual issues, ads and all. (Ads are like time capsules that provide supplemental commentary for the contemporary era relevant to the story's publication. They are great fun.)
Since prices have increased so much over time, I do buy far fewer comics than I used to, but I don't suspect that I would transition to digital comics anytime soon. Screen resolution is too low. And I really, really like to hold a comic in my hand.

Depends what it is. I used to get GLC in trade form and never got the single issues. If I really like a comic I'm getting I sometimes get the trade too. Although I place the issues together it's always possible to misplace them and it's easier to read an arc in trade than take out my collect to read back to back with ads.
Since I don't read that many comics it's not that big of a problem.

I've always been more of a trade-kind of guy myself. Perhaps because of my tradition with franco-beligum comics which come in a format closer to TPBs. But since I've been reading comics more "seriously" for some years now, I've also started getting old issues and whatnots. I have the entire run of the classic run of Booster Gold in issues. I kinda prefer it over, say, the black & white Showcases. Plus the fan letters are often hilarious. (well...maybe more in a book like Ambush Bug...but you get the idea)
