It's just like Fantasy Sports, minus the points.
I've been thinking for a few days now on Booster before the reboot. He had been becoming a very behind-the-scenes type character and a lot of his villains were like him in that sense too; Black Beetle, Supernova III, etc. That made me wonder, if he was supposed to have a very public sense about him, why he didn't have a second gallery, one that he would face on a more daily basis in some city he decided to roost in. Presumably Pheonix, Arizona (given that the Time Lab is in that State) or Las Vegas, Nevada would be home to the more public Booster. At least, to me those two cities make the most sense for him.
But, for my original purpose of this post...DC has come to you and asked YOU to make Booster Gold, THE GREATEST HERO EVER, a Rogues Gallery. This will be separate from his behind-the-scenes villains, so that means no Max, Jonar, Chronus Twins, Black Beetle, etc. You're tasked with filling in the the spots in something of a template that many heroes face. They should be people who seem fitting for him and his personality, like many Rogues are to their respective heroes. You can take anyone from any Rogues Gallery, except the arch enemy (Joker/Batman, Lex/Superman, Sinestro/GL, Zoom/Flash, etc. No taking the mains).
Can you come up with an interesting group who would become an iconic staple to the character?
You should also consider the staples all Rogue Gallery's have. The Arch Enemy (Ex. Joker to Batman), the Close Second (Captain Cold to The Flash), the Brainy One (Calculator to the Birds of Prey), the Muscle Man/Woman (Bane to Bats), the Femme Fatale (Catwoman to Batman), the Puzzle Master (Riddler to Batman), the Good-Intentioned-Unfortunately-Psycho (Poison Ivy to Batman), the Gang Leader (Black Mask to Batman), the Cold-Hearted One (Mr. Freeze to Batman), the Fire-Based one (Heatwave to the Flash) the Mirror-of-Myself (Catman to Batman), the Assassin (Deadshot to Batman), the Former-Lover/Friend (Hush(to the friend part, at least) to Batman) and the Animal-One (Killer Croc/Man-Bat to Batman)
I'd like to point out, I know I used a lot of Batman examples, but it's because his Rogue Gallery is the one I know the best. Also, you do not have to follow the same guides I used. If you just want to state a few, go for it. I just found this made me think deeper into a more in-depth Gallery.
Arch Enemy(ies): Punch And Jewelee. Let me explain this one (I probably will for most anyways lol). Ever since the Brave and Bold episode, I saw those two as a great fit for Booster. They have such a gimmick, and the gimmick is flashy and says 'look at me!' It seems like it would be a good mix with Mike. Not to mention our blond hero would get to flirt with Jewelee very unsuccessfully ;P
The Close Second: Phobia. Angela Hawkins uses fear to manipulate people. I've always felt Booster needs to face his fears, and this may be a good spot for someone like that.
The Brainy One: Clock King. While yes, it may seem to make more sense to make Clock King an Arch or Close Second Arch to our Time Traveling hero, the others I pick feel could have more to work off of with Michael. Plus, he fits the Brainy protocol.
The Strong-One: Killer Croc. Yes he could go as the Animal based one, when you're fighting a Powersuit such as Booster's, you need something more than just pure strength. Like bad B.O and big teeth.
The Femme Fatale: Volcana. While yes, she is from the Animated DC Universe, remember that is where Harley Quinn came from and look how popular she became. Plus, what's more fun than seeing Michael get beat around by a girl that's basically an evil-Bea?
The Puzzle Master: Bane. Now, before anyone says he wouldn't stand a chance against Michael's suit and powers, and that he's not known for his puzzles, I have a rebuttal. I could see Bane, who isn't necessarily bad anymore out more to test Michael mentally rather than physically. The character is incredibly smart and is close to Bruce Wayne. I could see him figuring out Mike's close ties to Bruce and testing him, assuming he's nothing more than blasters and a shield, someone not worthy to be friends with Batman.
The Good-Intentioned-Unfortunately-Psycho: Though I am drawing a blank for any villain fitting this bill, other than Ivy, I wouldn't mind seeing somehow who thinks Booster should share his technology with the world in this spot.
The Gang Leader: King. The Royal Flush Gang. While not a staple in Booster mythos yet, they have shown apparent interest in constantly fighting him.
The Cold-Hearted One: Icicle. The younger one. He's not part of the big well known Ice-related baddies, like Killer Frost, Captain Cold or Mr. Freeze, but he could gain major publicity facing off against Michael. And perhaps, that's all the kid really wants, to be considered a big player in the ice game.
The Fire-Based One: Firefly. Like the previous entry, he's young and he's flashy. Great mix against Booster Gold.
The Mirror-of-Myself: Peter Platinum. Embarrassed by Booster and Rip in the future, he comes to the past to seek revenge!
The Assassin: Lady Vic. While not the most powerful foe to go against a man in a Powersuit, she's spent much of her time fighting Gotham heroes, like Dick Grayson. That's got to be a good way to keep yourself ready for anything.
The Former-Lover/Friend: This one...bare with me on. Trixie. What, no, she's too good to our Michael though! Yes, but characters can flop about, just as Max. My thought is she could come back as Booster's lover, but have split personalities or be half-assidly mind controlled, where the personality or mind controlled part of her enjoys dawning a costume and attempting to destroy Booster Gold.
The Animal-One: Queen Bee. Everyone needs a villain that comes across as someone too powerful for the hero to beat. And her's the one for Fantasy Rogues Gallery for Booster Gold. Zazzala would definitely give Booster a run for his money.
I hope you all have fun with this and get a good mental work out from it! ^_^
