It's a nice twist on how he started his second series because he rejected the JLA to keep his bad image, they where using the Hall of Justice. Now he's leading the JLI because the U.N. don't trust the JLA and the JLI headquarters (the Hall of Justice) was destroyed.

Same here. Why is Barry THE Flash if he does something like this? Wally was able to change time to save his twins without bringing the timeline to it's knees. I like flawed heroes (Booster of course) but how does this prove he's the best?

By the time that DC decided to relegate him to the dust bin, Wally was a far more developed character and a more successful hero than Barry ever was. However, DC doesn't like character development because it gets in the way of their ability to market bed sheets and Underoos. So welcome back, Barry!

Sad but true. If the people want Wally (and just about every panel at cons seems to suggest they do) then give them what they want. They gave into the Barbara Gordon as Batgirl fans why not this? *Rereads above comment* Oh right.

Blue Beetle is doring horrible saleswise, as will as the comic itself (the last one is of course just my opinion. Dropped the title 2 months ago). The Sales numbers for December were blow 20.000 and it does not seem that it will last very long.

So this relaunch would not only have destroyed Jaime's old history (which I enjoyed very much), but also messed up his relaunch and he might end up in limbo. (Or worse, Teen Titans).

The only small silver lining I can see is that if the current Blue Bettle does not work out, DC might be more willing to play around with the franchise. I doubt that they'll do a Barry Allen with Ted & Jaime, but it might raise the chances for Ted becoming part of the DCnU.

I hadn't realized that BLUE BEETLE was underperforming so spectacularly. (Although I knew I, VAMPIRE was faring poorly, and BEETLE is doing worse looking at CBR's list:
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=36346
.)

I think this proves the major weakness in the lack of forethought in DC's reboot: they are just retelling the stories that we already know to those of us who already know them. Demand was low for the new Blue Beetle before, and now they've just undermined what little success they previously had by treating the characters's existing fans as irrelevant.

I don't think there's any significant evidence that they've picked up genuinely new readers -- empirically demonstrated in my locality -- and they have alienated many of their old ones. This isn't just me griping personally, but stems also from me talking to my LCS owners. They are concerned that they aren't seeing new faces, and 1/4 of a year later, they are already reverting to previous sales numbers for the same old titles: Batman, Superman, Green Lantern.

I believe that there some good in this, from a Booster Gold fan perspective. The less succesful the new DCU is, the more willing DC is most likely going to be to allow old elements back in. While some bridges are already burned and not restoreable without another crisis (the old JLI for example) other things could easily be kept/restored as the comics have been very vague about them, like for example BG's career as a Time Master.

Though in the end that is just salvaging, limiting loses without any real gain.

And while we are talking about it:

http://www.newsarama.com/comics/dc-new- ... 20112.html

With OMAC gone, the chances for Max as a JLI villian are rising. Just questionable how it should live up to the "old times", with their shared history wiped out.

Holy crap, DC. Just what readers demanded: a Huntress/Power Girl team-up book and a knock-off of Marvel's RUNAWAYS. That'll bring the kids in droves. There appears to be a limitless market for Batman titles: why doesn't DC just cancel everything that's not Batman or Green Lantern?

Whatever. I'm sure someone out there is eagerly anticipating the new books. I have to admit, I am interested in what Robbie Reed and the ghost of J.E.B. Stuart are up to in the DCnU. They have to sell better than MEN AT WAR, right?

For the first few sentences I was not sure if you were serious, though somehow I often an image of Waldorf & Statler with comic books in their hand in my head when I hear you complaining about DC *g* (which is not to say that I don't agree with your view).

I found war comic never appealling, and they seem strangly out of place in a world with Superman & co.

Franklly, M, you would probably be staggered at how often I am compared to Waldorf & Statler. IRL, my reputation as a sarcastic curmudgeon is so widely accepted theat my friends and family have a hard time accepting that I actually do like some things. (Not many things. Really, now that I try to think of one other than Booster Gold, I can only think of Coca-Cola. But I swear, there have to be others.)

The old Kanigher/Kubert Sgt. Rock stories in OUR ARMIES AT WAR were fantastic. Maybe a bit repetitious, but very enjoyable in monthly doses. Granted, Rock spends all of his time shooting Germans, so I would understand that his adventures might not be as popular in Germany.
