I've read about 5 titles and bought 2 but the entire nDCU reminds me of Heroes Reborn from Marvel back in the 90's. Everything is starting over and makes no sense if you've known these characters at all in the past. It all comes down to writing: good writers can write anything and can deal with years of continuity with no problems, bad writers can only rewrite what was already created before with disastrous results.
It's a gimmick, a bad gimmick and not even an original gimmick. I see another Crisis in the near future.

Exactly my thoughts!
And we know how that whole Heroes Reborn debacle ended up, right? :P

I only got a few back issues from Heroes Reborn but this seems much better to me. But then again I only got three issues so far. Animal Man is pretty much intact, as is Static and JLI is unclear at present. I don't think I'll be seeing any of the big changes until next week since this week I'm getting a book that takes place in the distant past and a Bat book.

I enjoyed Static too, was surprised that it was good. I just hope they keep him away from the Jersey Titans.

Is anyone reading Legion? Looking at the source it might explain what happened to timetravel in the DCnU. While I doubt that there will be any reference to the Carters it might still be interesting for Booster Troopers*

*mh..okay I won't use that term ever again to refer to Booster Gold fans.

I've been using "Booster Boosters". It's no better.

I recall there being a quote for one of the Legion books that says that after Flashpoint time travel was closed (which greatly affects one of the books) but that's about it.

Obviously I'm not reading LEGION LOST so I'm relying only on your information, Erin, but what is that supposed to mean? All Legion continuity is supposed to take place 1000 years in the future of the DCU. That means that their present, our future, always takes place after our present, their past. (Even Professor Zoom and Booster Gold come from a time prior to the existence of the Legion of Super Heroes.) If their time travel is outlawed after our FLASHPOINT event, their time travel would have always had to have been outlawed, as all of their adventures take place after our FLASHPOINT event.

to my understanding:

Legion Lost plays in the "past" (DCnU present) and they are stranded there

Legion of the Super-heroes still plays in the future (30th? 31th century?). The comment about the closed timestream is from a preview for Legion of the Super-Hereos which has not yet been released. (I though it would be releaased this week because of the Source-blog-post where I got the Timestream comment from but that was wrong).

Until LotSH is out (and someone has read it, I myself won't buy it) we are still guessing when it comes to the details of post-Flashpoint time travel.

Yeah, I got my info on the Legion stuff from DCs' source too. So in this instance what Didio said actually plays right into a storyline right away. The Legion members just can't get part of their team because they can't access the time stream.

I got Superboy since the comics I was going to get weren't there. It was alright, a nice twist on things that I don't recall being explored in comics, regarding this character. I'm not a big Superboy fan so I'm not sure if I will keep reading it. Not bad though.
