Hey, some people are more into artwors and other into stories. To each their own, right?

(it all depends if you're one who's always sketching doodles or if you're big into literature)

Oh, I don't mean to criticize other's approaches to comics. Everyone likes what they like. I just think they should be aware that there may be more to the situation than they are aware.

While I do believe that you should be able to look at a comic and understand it by only looking at the pictures, I believe that is just as big a mistake as only reading the word balloons. My point was just that sequential art is a synthesis of the expression/interpretation methods of both sides of the brain, and are most enjoyable when viewed as a whole instead of as their individual components.

If someone only wants to look at pictures or read words, it's their choice. I just don't really think they are getting their money's worth by ignoring the other half.

I really only tend to notice the very bad artists so that I can avoid their art. I just expect good art in my comics, or at the very least clean art where I can identify each character without dialog. That being said my top 5 in no particular order:
Dan Jurgens
George Perez
Art Adams
John Byrne (his earlier work is great)
Jackson Guice (years of Micronauts reading)

Jackson Guice? I've never connected with him, but I think that's primarily because he seems to always be illustrating books that I'm not reading. Otherwise, that's definitely a list I can live with.
