Some really great character moments as the team grieves in their own way. Gavril and Bea kiss so it looks like their paired off. He also gets some good depth when he talks to Booster at the end. I loved all the moments but Boosters' were amazing. It shows how much he cares and actually gets a little into how self aware he is. Seriously I think this is the best sum up of who Booster is that I've seen in at least a year if not ever. I ended up loving this team even more.

This character driven issue, that could have been a complete momentum killer, drew me to this JLI team. I want to know what happens to them next. I want them succeed. Winick has impressed me with this series.
I really enjoyed seeing the team rally around its leader... and that leader be Booster! I like the Fire and RR pairing... and don't really know why. I think the story surrounding the inhumanity of CA is interesting and has my curiosity piqued. Ice... she's pretty? I am hoping for a rock'em sock'em ending!

I think Gavril and Bea are a little like Tora/Guy in a way, their not what you'd expect as a couple. He comes off a little goofy but she likes that about him. One of the reasons I think the Cap story works so well is that despite him becoming less human he still has a lot of humanity. He cares, he doesn't want to out live everyone and remembers those who died. Ice is a sweetheart that cares about her friends and has one of the strongest friendship in comics. I was really touched to see the team rally around Booster especially after the crap they've given him in the past issues. Too see Captain Atom ask Booster to be strong for them and keep leading, that was really great.
Next issue has Batman (Bruce), Power Girl and another JLI member coming to help.

The internet sure got worked up for months over ... well, you know. And it didn't even last a month? Hmm. Maybe we're taking these comic books too seriously.
I think it is impossible to be a fan of Booster Gold and not absolutely love this issue. Judd Winick better look out, or I'm going to have to say some nice things about his work.

One of the best issues, not just of the series, but I think of what DC has put out for quite some time.
Each character gets a wonderful moment here. From Ice finally getting it through Atom's head that just because he changed doesn't mean that it is the end of the world, to Fire's reason for kissing Gavril, to Booster's reason why he is so depressed and down on himself and really feeling the weight of being a leader...
And if Booster needs proof he is a good leader, it is what just happened here that is proof. Fire, the person that in 52 slammed him and insulted him tells him to man up. Atom, a very heroic character, asks him to lead. Gavril, the new comedy man on the team, steps up and explains exactly why Booster is important. That is the proof of a good leader, when your people stand up and tell you to keep going.
And without being too smug...DC Boards, I called it. Everyone on there was whining about Jaime dying and I called it.

I'm glad you were right, Chaos. There's a reason I never read the DC boards.

I notice it's been strangely quiet on certain boards since this happened. Although a couple seem to be under the impression that Jaime isn't really "back", just a puppet for the scarab or can't take the suit off. I fell for the Booster death in 52 (although I was trade waiting) so I'm not going to fall for the rest of this as easy.

It's hard to see the future. There's a part of me that thinks the scarab has just infused with Jaime's dead body to make one final go at Max Lord. I think that would be pretty heartless against poor Booster. Imagine seeing this, then finding out it's just the alien suit hooked up to the kid's mind, and that once it removes itself from him, he's just a lifeless husk.
