I have to say, Tony Bedard does a great job showing Booster's media savvy and corporate shill side.

I must say this looks pretty good, I think I'd like to see Booster in a regular supporting role in this book if the writing is as good as it seems from these few pages.

While I like what I see so far, I have the feeling that Tony Bedard really wishes he would be writing Spider-Man (again) instead of Blue Beetle...

I'm surprised that his name is given as Micheal Carter. That was hardly public knowledge pre-FLASHPOINT.

I was thinking that too, but if you go back to JLI 1, Briggs comments "no masks", that all the heroes had to be publicly known. Fire and Vixen would be known because of their modelling (assuming they still are models in the DCnU), Michael loves the attention, Guy was revealed in Green Lantern Corps 1 to be very publicly know (along with John). I'm assuming the General and Ice were know publicly as well. And IF Garvil was like his Pre-DCnU self, he would have been a hardcore Commie with a blog, thus not hidden.

Also it is a smart move (since is name is already public') to introduce himself with it first and then as Booster Gold, since he is facing someone who is ranting against mask and super-heroes. Takes a lot of bite out of his arguements if he can't throw the same accusations against Booster.

In the old DCU, Booster Gold's legal name was "Booster Gold." That's not a secret identity, but the name on his Social Security Card. Who is going to accuse Booster of having a secret identity or an assumed identity when the government recognizes his name? Aside from that snoopy reporter Lois Lane, no one accuses Superman of having a secret identity!

In all fairness, Superman doesn't actually wear a mask, no one except dimwitted Lois doesn't see through that dopey glasses disguise. They're all just playing along with the naive alien, so as not to hurt his super-feelings.

An editor's note in BLUE BEETLE #11 hints that this story will be continued in the JLI ANNUAL. Shall we start taking bets on whether Booster Gold and Blue Beetle will be paired in a new BLUE AND GOLD series in 2013?

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I'm betting/hoping yes. It would make sense for a few reasons, not the least of which is, despite good writing Beetle's SALES figures are in the toilet (mid teens), having two reasonably popular characters in a single book is a simple inexpensive way to increase SALES, and Booster's tv show development may want to include a Beetle connection like in Smallville(just a guess).
