To be honest...I believe that even a bad tv show (as long as it actually airs) would Booster do some good...as it should raise the chances drasticly that he would be getting his solo title back.

Also by simply making Booster a brand that is known outside comic circles increases his chances to appear outside comics, even if his own show would fail. One example, you mentioned that you hated the new BSG show, but currently there are plans to do a new BSG movie, based on the original, not the new show..which I assume you do favour. While this is not yet a done deal, the chances for this happening would be lower if not for the rebooted show.

What I am trying to say is..let's take whatever we can get (wrt to TV & Booster). A good show might help his status in the comic industry, but I doubt that a bad one would do much damage. I mean it is not like we are in a place to say: "On Scifi? Na...we'll wait for the Big Screen"

I had failed to consider that it would help Booster get his own title back. That's a great point. The mere possibility should encourage everyone who loves Booster Gold to support the show even if it re-imagines Booster as a dark-haired, black leather wearing Goth who travels through time with his dinosaur sidekick, always failing to "correct" "history" in such cases as tripping Sherlock Holmes at the moment he is about to catch Moriarty.

I'm actually glad it's being worked on by a smaller network like SciFi. While it won't get in the public eye as much, I would imagine there's a lot more freedom on SciFi then say ABC or something. Can you imagine all the focus testing, corporate meddling that would go on at a big network and what it would mean with a character like Booster (remember WW's neon blue vinyl pants on the failed pilot?).

I think if a pilot about Booster has any chance to get picked up it would be on a smaller network where they don't have to worry about hitting every demographic at the same time.

The news about this script seems to have caused more media buzz for Booster than anything he did ever in the comics. Something that makes me happy and sad at the same time.

While trying to find more infos (without success) I learned that there seem to be several DC shows in the making. All on different networks. Spectre on Fox (even if it airs...it'll get axed anyway), Deathman on CW (though they wanted to make a show about raven?), then there might be still some live in the planned Blue Beetle (III/I) show for Cartoon Network.

Among those shows I think that Booster has the highest chance of actually airing. For one because I simply want to believe it, but also because Scifi is much less picky with its project. While a network like fox orders quite a few scripts and pilots without actually going through in the end, a small network like scifi can't afford to be that. That is of course no gurantee...but what else is there to do at the moment but to hope?

(Besides stealing a nuclear warhead and demand a Booster Gold show as part of the ransom)

Do they call Deadman "Deathman" over in Germany, or is that a typo? It's no secret that DC has been struggling to fill teh void left by SMALLVILLE. I just think it's funny that they keep trying with their "lesser" properties. This is probably for budgetary reasons, but I think television audiences would love to see any of the classic Justice Leaguers on their television screens.

It is a typo, I've never heard of Deadman in Germany. If it is not one of the big guys nobody knows them. There are hardly any translated comics..though the first few TPB of Booster Gold Vol 2 are translated. Yet all the stuff I have is in English.

Back in the 60ths & 70ths they translated some of the names, Flash was "Der Rote Blitz" (The red Flash) and Green lantern was directly translated which lead to one of the most stupid sounding names for comic heroes. Then again..kind of fitting for Hal Jordan.
