I don't know about you guys, but this actually made me breathe a sigh of relief:

Along those lines, will Booster Gold play a role in your series?

No Booster. Again, I want to establish Jaime as his own man, and when you bring in Booster you bring in the Ghost of Beetles Past. Doesn't mean they won't cross paths later, but not right away.

I'm biased, but I figure less Booster Gold is never a good thing.

Same here, I kind of wanted Booster to interact more with Jaime. They had what, four separate get togethers since Jaime became BB? After the Dead Ted arc and JLGL I was hoping that their ill defined bond would strength. I like the idea of Booster mentoring and acting like a big brother. From Boosters' story stand point it also makes sense that he'd develop skills as a teacher since he's going to be teaching his son how to be a Time Master.

Booster had some nice (not enough) moments with Jaime in the Beetle' on-going. Like that time they had a barbecue at the Reyes' with the JLI gang (what was left of it anyways).

And I just noticed you don't have listed all of Booster appearances in that Blue Beetle series! I shall check it out for you later :P

I didn't buy BLUE BEETLE v2 on a regular basis. If Booster appeared in it, I would love to know about it.

looking at the summary for the second issue it looks like Jaimes history might be completely rebooted. I guess his background will stay the same, but it looks like his history with Booster (infinite crisis, gl) might be gone.

Really? That seems unnecessarily... unnecessary.

This stinks of SMALLVILLE to me.

If DC is serious about keeping the best-selling trades in continuity, and Jaime's origin is in INFINITE CRISIS, why change his origin? And if Jaime's origin no longer needs to be tied to INFINITE CRISIS, why the hell is Ted still dead? Just so that Jaime can be a legacy hero, exactly the scenario DC claims to want to "clean up" with the reboot? WTF DC?

What's the point of it all, anyway? If Jaime couldn't sustain his own title five years ago, and Jamie couldn't boost BOOSTER GOLD sales at all as a back-up in a weak market two years ago, how long is his new title going to last no matter what his origin is while DC is flooding the market with new books? Where are all these new readers supposed to come from, all those people who hated INFINITE CRISIS?

This is the summary I mentioned:

Jaime Reyes was trying to save his best friend when an alien weapon attached itself to his spine. Now, if he wants to live to see tomorrow, Jaime must defeat a team of Super-Villains who want the weapon for more nefarious purposes.

Maybe I am interpreting it wrong, but to me it sounds like they are starting from the scratch with Jaime...though I would certainly not mind being wrong.

My first thought was SMALLVILLE when I read that, too--if Booster weren't there, and Jaime were to have thrown Paco out of the way of a moving vehicle, only to unwittingly cause a crash and get the Scarab or something to that effect. We'll see how it plays out.
