..for at least a one shot.

Announced at WC11, dc is planning a "Retro-active" event in which classic writer and artists of past decades will reunite to tell One-Shot stories of their old character set in in their original timeframe. One of those teams are Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis who will be writing a Justice League title.

So while we are still waiting for a new JLI ingoing*, we'll get at least a flashback to the first JLI and another chance to see some of their lost members.

(gives also a list for the other one-shots and might contain sime minor spoilers)

*Even though there already has been a backdoor confirmation that it will come imho.

Thanks for the update. So this is going to be one of the stories in a one shot? (I could only glance at the article earlier, it won't load for me now.)

Yes. There will be 6 series (one each for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, and Justice League of America) of three books (one each for the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s): 18 total books. Each book will be a stand-alone one-shot of new (26 pgs.) & reprint material (20 pgs.) appropriate to their era created by artists of their era. And each book will cost $4.99(!).

Thanks!

Not sure if I'll get it for that much. Have to check my budget since I plan on getting more dc books. Always good to see more of Booster though.

Price issue aside, this is actually the first time that I read about an upcoming "event" (if you can call it that) and think to myself "That is pretty neat".

Even if the JLI-issue is the only one that does really interest me, I am sure there are enough other fans happy over the remaining one-shots.

That is pretty awesome!
Great news, and a great initiative on DC's part. A neat way to help out reader find a familiarity after this big "What if.." that will be flashpoint.

DC posted the mastheads for the 3 decades of "Retro-active" on the Source yesterday. I don't mind saying that I think the one from the 1980s looks best.

Also, I should note that I would rather see Dan Jurgens on the 90s Superman one-shot rather than Louise Simonson. It's not that Simonson isn't qualified (she wrote SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL for most of the decade), but this is a Booster Gold site, after all.

I would have rather expected that you demand an 80ths oneshot of Booster Gold Vol1 by Dan Jurgens. If I remember right the series final was extremly lackluster (due being a tie-in to on of those event). Would have been a good chance to give BG vol#1 a better and more deserving send off.

Of course all this is just dreaming and in general we should be rather happy with the amount of attention Booster is getting (in and outside comcis)...but then I ask myself WWBD and I am sure he would aim even higher.
