In a hospital room, Booster Gold breaks the news to Fire that Rocket Red #4 is dead as Guy Gardner watches nearby. Booster's forearms are bandaged from the meltdown of his wrist-mounted energy blasters by way of an attack from an OMAC unit in The OMAC Project #5.
Page 11, panel 2
When Guy Gardner leaves to join the heroes in a stand against the OMACs, Guy refuses to allow Booster to accompany him for Booster's own safety. With a disabled power suit, a dismantled sidekick, and a deceased best friend, Booster is truly at the lowest point in his career.
Page 11, panel 5
Kissing Fire goodbye, Booster walks out of the hospital to return "home." It is unclear what exactly Booster has in mind. Booster has long expressed a desire to return to the future, though the DC Universe's post-Crisis on Infinite Earths physical laws of time travel have prevented that up to this point. This is Booster's final appearance in this story.
Boosterrific Review: The heroes make their dramatic stand against the menace of the OMACs, leading to Brother I's trump card. The conclusion to this series clearly sets the environment for the upcoming Infinite Crisis series. A satisfying end to a very engaging series.
Boosterrific Rating: Worth Its Weight In Gold.
