ANNOTATIONS

Page 24, panel 2
Following her unorthodox arrival in the previous issue, Gold Beetle climbs down from the wreck of her ship, a golden version of Blue Beetle's signature Bug hovercraft. She is accompanied by a familiar football-shaped flying robot named Skeets! (Can it be the original Skeets? Despite taking place 83,000 years in the future, this story's protagonist, Black Adam, is the original deal, as are several of other mystical heroes he encounters. So why not the original Skeets!)

Page 25, panel 2
In the future 853rd Century (the setting for DC One Million), Gold Beetle explains that she comes "from a long line of heroes and time-travelers." That lineage is shown to include several generations of Booster Golds and Blue Beetles. It's worth noting that the Booster Gold analog of the 853rd century, Peter Platinum, (introduced in Booster Gold #1,000,000) is not a descendant of the original but an outsider who stole Booster's equipment. Therefore, he presumably has no relation to Gold Beetle.
