ANNOTATIONS

Page 1, panel 2
Blue Beetle II and Booster Gold accompany the critically injured Captain Atom to the fictitious Lower Manhattan Medical Center. Blue Beetle is distraught over the condition of Atom, especially considering the fact that the pair barely spoke after Atom used government concocted lies about Beetle's mentor in order to earn his trust (in Captain Atom #20). Meanwhile Booster is on the opposite end of the spectrum, playing the carefree buffoon despite the fact that it was Atom who expended every effort to make sure that Booster survived after he was critically injured by the Devastator (in Justice League America #89).

BUSTER GOLD: The S.T.A.R. Labs technician who assisted in the airlift of Captain Atom calls Booster "Buster," reviving the time-tested tradition of calling Booster by the wrong name.
