ISSUE ANNOTATIONS

Page 14, panel 2
Booster Gold and Blue Beetle are horsing around while an android duplicate of Mister Miracle attempts to contact Big Barda on the telephone. Everyone on the planet Earth, including Booster, Beetle, and Barda, are unaware that Mister Miracle has been replaced with an android duplicate while the real Mister Miracle is in space.

The telephone that the Mister Miracle robot is using is modeled after Ambush Bug, an unusual DC Universe hero who Booster may have met during Invasion!.

Page 14, panel 4
FASHION ALERT: Booster's back is shown clearly having no blue star. This is the second time since the star was introduced as a costume element in Justice League America #34 that it has been left off his costume (see Time Masters #4). Booster does not have multiple costumes, so this must be an error on the part of the artists in this guest appearance.

Page 14, panel 5
Booster and Beetle discuss the odd behavior of the Mister Miracle doppelganger. Despite Booster's previous boasts to Superman about his ability to recognize androids (in Action Comics #594), this is the second time that he has been fooled by a robotic duplicate (see Mister Miracle, Vol. 2, #7).

ISSUE REVIEW

Boosterrific Review: All pretense at normalcy is out the window when Mister Miracle embarks on a tour of space with the Cluster and Lobo in order to promote his latest product. This series is really an attempt to capitalize on the humor of the popular Justice League International series, but it lacks the clever interactions between disparate and familiar faces. There's a lot to like in this comic, but it still feels somehow incomplete.

Boosterrific Rating:

Gold Standard.
