ISSUE SUMMARY

Cover Description: Dawnstar crouches in battle against the three forms of Alastor. (No Booster Gold.)

Brief Synopsis: The Justice League International are one of many groups trying to deal with a spreading plague that the Legion of Super-Heroes has failed to prevent.

Issue Summary: As civilization in locations across the North America -- including Booster Gold and the Justice League International in Canada -- struggle to combat the Hypertaxis plague, Dawnstar and Tellus battle Alastor, the being responsible for unleashing the disease, in Colorado. Dawnstar physically battles Alastor's 3 forms while Tellus attacks its mind. Tellus screams for help when Alastor proves too strong.

Wildfire, Timber Wolf, and Tyroc hear Tellus' cry, and make short work of their attackers in order to respond. Wildfire takes their fallen comrade Chameleon Girl to safety as Wildfire and Tyroc fly to aid Tellus.

Meanwhile, Tellus tries to undermine Alastor's motivations. Dawnstar is distracted from the fight long enough to save a civilian and be saved in turn by Wildfire.

Wildfire turns his attention to Alastor with little effect, forcing Tellus to lobotomize their shared foe. Reveal Potential Spoilers

The Justice League International is seen via a "MagnetBox" television -- a pun on the American electronics brand Magnavox -- in news coverage of their confrontation with a victim of the Hypertaxis plague. A narrative box details the setting as Manitoba, Canada, but it isn't clear whether the people looking at the monitor are in Manitoba or if the JLI is in Manitoba, or both. This is Booster Gold's only appearance in this issue.

ISSUE REVIEW

Boosterrific Review: The small cast allows each featured character a chance to shine, and the art and action are excellent. Other than some ongoing confusion about whether Dawnstar's costume has any straps (and a lack of significant action for Booster Gold), an excellent issue.
