ISSUE ANNOTATIONS

Page 3, panel 6
Alongside fellow Justice League members Batman, Black Canary II, Blue Beetle II, Captain Atom, Guy Gardner, Martian Manhunter, Mister Miracle I, and Rocket Red #4 and Metron, Booster Gold is drawn into a Metron-created Boom Tube...

Page 4, panel 1
...to New Genesis, home of the New Gods. Red Rocket #4 is mistakenly shown in the armor of his predecessor, Red Rocket #7.

Page 11, panel 2
Booster Gold and Blue Beetle compare Supertown, the advanced metropolis of New Genesis, to New York City. By any measure New York certainly suffers by comparison.

Page 12, panel 2
Appearance of Highfather, head of the New Gods. First appearing in New Gods #1, Highfather is the biological father of Mister Miracle and chief antagonist of Darkseid.

Page 16, panel 2
Beetle, Booster and Martian Manhunter come face-to-face with the extraterrestrial artificial intelligence Kilg%re. Kilg%re first appeared in August 1987's Flash, Vol. 2, #3. It is unclear in April 1988's Justice League International #12 whether Maxwell Lord's unnamed computer was intended to be Kilg%re or whether this is an instance of a retroactive continuity change (commonly called a "retcon").

Page 16, panel 3
Kilg%re takes control of the micro-circuitry in Booster's power suit and blasters, causing him to attack his friends. This forces Blue Beetle and Martian Manhunter to flee, leaving Booster behind, under Kilg%re's control.

Page 34, panel 1
Through the intervention of Darkseid, Booster regains control of his power suit just in time...

Page 34, panel 5
...to save Highfather from Darkseid's destructive "anti-energy" beam.

Page 40, panel 8
His plans frustrated by the Justice League and New Gods, Kilg%re uses Metron's Moebius Chair to send the Justice League back in time to the moment before they were transported to New Genesis. None of the Justice Leaguers present have any memory of the events that just transpired on New Genesis and Apokolips.

ISSUE REVIEW

Boosterrific Review: The story in this issue is a bit of bizarre, revisionist history, that, in the end, no one remembers. That's a pretty cheap trick that diminishes this story by making it the worst kind of "what if" story: the true kind.

Boosterrific Rating:

Gold Standard.
