Booster Gold waits impatiently while Blue Beetle II repairs his new armor, damaged when hit by alien energy pistol blasts during its shakedown mission in Justice League America #81. Booster is not concerned about his own safety in the malfunctioning armor, just the speed at which he can return to action.

Beetle and Booster argue about Beetle's decision to hide from the world in his lab. Like any true friend, Booster is concerned about Beetle's mental health following Beetle's recovery from his Doomsday-induced coma. Of course, Beetle is just as worried about Booster's need to return to combat so quickly that he'd sacrifice his own health. Each of these heroes is responding to recent tragedies in their own, opposite, ways.

Finally back in his armor, Booster confronts Guy Gardner about his murder of the alien Blake in Justice League America #81. Blue Beetle, Fire, and Oberon watch the confrontation apprehensively.

POWER UP: Booster flies into the sky and shoots an energy ray at Gardner, demonstrating the powers of his armor. It is unclear if his flight is produced by his Legion Flight Ring or the power of the suit, as no means of propulsion is visible.

DON'T MAKE 'EM LIKE THEY USED TO: Booster's armor is no match for Guy's power ring, and the fight is quickly ended. (Mark II Booster Gold 0, Enemies 3.) As Booster falls, slots are revealed on the soles of his feet. Though it would appear that Booster's flight is powered by his Legion Flight Ring, these slots may be nozzles for jet exhaust. Rocket Red armor, the basis for Booster's new armor, does indeed have jet boots for powered flight.

Booster joins Captain Atom, Bloodwynd I, Crater, and Maxima in firing upon Guy Gardner, finally subduing him.
Boosterrific Review: Most of this issue is a suitable follow-up to the cold-blooded murder committed by a Leaguer in the previous issue. Suitable, but not exceptional, which is disappointing following the exceptional events of the previous issue.
