Booster Gold's role in this story:
Featured (Booster Gold plays a prominent role)
Costume Worn: MARK I power-suit
Page 3, panel 1
In a typical show of bravado, Booster Gold calls Starbreaker "Starbooger," as Justice Leaguers Bloodwynd, Blue Beetle II, Fire, Ice, and Superman attempt to rescue Maxima.
Page 6, panel 1
Starbreaker's retort to Booster's comment ("I'm a living battery! I know all about change!") does not really make much sense. Perhaps if Starbreaker had revealed that he once worked at a bank instead of comparing himself to a storage device, it would have seemed more clever. If Booster had declared his intention to "charge" Starbreaker, Starbreaker could have changed just one letter in his retort to present a pun on Booster's comment, and come off as a little more clever. But sometimes you just say the first thing that comes into your head, don't you, Starbreaker?
Page 6, panel 2
For the second time in 3 issues, Booster is effortlessly defeated by a villain who can bypass his "impenetrable" force-field.
Page 11, panel 2
Continuing his stellar wordplay, Booster calls Starbreaker, "Starboner." "Booger"? "Boner"? Booster isn't giving Starbreaker much to work with here. Perhaps Ice is right; Booster may be crass.
Page 17, panel 3
POWER DOWN: Starbreaker leeches the energy from Booster's energy batteries, draining his suit and leaving him powerless to stop Starbreaker's ultimate plan. (Or anyone else's ultimate plan, for that matter.)
Boosterrific Review: Improbably powerful team of heroes? Check. Unusual and distinctive dialogue? Check. Villain with a ridiculous and insidious plan? Check. Everything that you expect in a Justice League story.
Boosterrific Rating: Worth Its Weight In Gold.
