ANNOTATIONS

Page 4, panel 1
Rather than fly back from the hospital to the Super Buddies' headquarters, Blue Beetle II and Booster Gold elect to take the subway. Booster has finally had enough of Beetle's recent demeaning attitude, and he starts an argument about the situation.

Page 8, panel 3
Beetle accuses Booster of regressing "into a perpetual state of adolescent idiocy!" At one time, Booster was a smart and very capable hero before he adopted the role of Justice League class clown. This behavior, which Booster will defend as a survival mechanism for dealing with the 20th century, has made Booster a laughing stock in the DC Universe, a role that Booster normal plays up.

Page 9, panel 1
Beetle and Booster arrive at the Supper Buddies headquarters as their argument reaches its climax. Having had enough of Beetle's attitude, Booster throws a punch at his friend, accidentally missing and striking the Cluster's robots gathered outside. As usual, events spiral out of control at a swift pace, with Booster and Beetle at the center of the blame.

Page 11, panel 1
The Super Buddies headquarters is situated between the rhyming Moe's Liquors and Joe's Deli.

Beetle and Booster are rescued from the Cluster robots by Mary Marvel, who delivers them to...

...the Justice League, who are watching events unfold from a nearby rooftop. Leaguers present are Batman, Flash III, Martian Manhunter, Plastic Man, and Wonder Woman. Based on her comments, this is apparently Mary Marvel's first meeting with Martian Manhunter. Apparently Mary Marvel has confused Martian Manhunter with "Uncle Martin, the antennaed Martian from the 1960s television show My Favorite Martian.

The Justice League intervenes in the negotiations between Manga Khan and Maxwell Lord, reuniting Beetle and Booster with Elongated Man, Fire, Sue Dibny and L-Ron.

REVIEWS

Boosterrific Review: Martian Manhunter and the modern JLA rejoin the party as the Super Buddies do their best to bring the house down, figuratively and literally. As a fan of the madcap antics of the original Justice League International, this series has been a real joy to read, and this last issue is no disappointment.
